Issue with a contact email: "permanent rejection"

Hello,

I have a contact who is not receiving my marketing emails, even though the email address is valid.
The email is marked as:
Permanent rejection (Policy)
Server response
554 Message not allowed - [PH01] Email not accepted for policy reasons. Please visit SMTP Error Codes | Sender Hub

I don’t know what to do on Yahoo’s end…

How can I get the address removed from the bounce list (as indicated by HubSpot)?

Thanks in advance

Hello @OlivierANDRE and welcome to the HubSpot Community! It’s a real pleasure to have you here! :orange_heart:

Thanks for sharing the bounce details! The 554 [PH01] Message not allowed response is a permanent Yahoo policy rejection. This means the address may still be valid, but Yahoo is blocking the message.

I’d like to share some resources that can help (you can switch the language on the articles to see them in your preferred language):

Now, let’s consult our Top Experts: Hi @danmoyle, @Josh and @Lnorden2 do you have suggestions to help @OlivierANDRE, please?

Wishing you a wonderful day and thanks so much!

Welcome to the Community @OlivierANDRE! Thanks for the tag @Berangere. I’d have shared the same sources, and also suggest contacting HubSpot Support to see if there’s something on their end they can help with. From there, I’m not as well-versed in technical answers to getting emails to unbounce. Wish I had better insight and maybe specific instructions. When I asked Perplexity, I got instructions but I’ve never followed them so I can’t confirm they’re correct.

Hi @OlivierANDRE, I’ve sent you a DM about this.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Hi @OlivierANDRE

The 554[PH01] error shows that Yahoo is rejecting the email due to its sending policy, not necessarily, but it can be due to an invalid address. HubSpot may automatically mark the address as permanently bounced and suppress future marketing emails. We can resolve this by firstly checking the recipient address and confirming it is valid, then contacting HubSpot Support to review the bounce and determine whether the suppression can be removed or not. Then ask the recipient to check with their email provider it the rejection continues or not.

I hope this helps you out. Please mark it as Solution Accepted and Like to help another Community member.

Thanks!
