Hi!

Does someone knows why when I send an Email Makreting, the preview text in the recipients inbox appears like this:

newsletter-xxx-linkedin…

When actrually I’ve wrote a short sentence like:

“See who’s driving breakthroughs in Parkinson’s disease treatments”

Hi @LBallesteros19,

You can specify this preview text in the settings tab of the email editor:

 ![](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/4/2/42a0c032b8ee92df409c83593666321198106292.png)

If you don’t do that (or if the email client simply ignores it – which is something HubSpot can’t do anything about), the email client will pull whatever is the first text in the email. What you shared looks like it’s the alternative text of the first image in your email. Make sure it has a good alt text (which can potentially be exactly what you add in the settings tab of the email editor). To edit the alt text, simply click on the image in the email editor and adjust the alt text in the left sidebar.

Best regards

@LBallesteros19 can you please share a screenshot of your email and a screenshot of the alternative text of your first image in that email?

@LBallesteros19 I was referring to a screenshot of your email in the HubSpot email editor and a screenshot of the alternative text of the image in the HubSpot email editor. Could you please share those two screenshots?

It really looks like the alternative text from the first image is pulling, fairly confident that this is what’s happening.

You’re having an issue with how the preview text is showing up in recipients’ inboxes. This often happens because email clients (like Gmail or Outlook) may automatically pull text from the body of the email if the preview text field isn’t properly set. Sometimes, they pick up the first few lines of the email or any visible links, which is likely why you’re seeing something like “newsletter-xxx-linkedin…” instead of your intended sentence.

Make sure that you’ve correctly set the preview text in the designated field in your email platform. If that field is left empty, the email client might grab the first text it can find in the body, which could include URLs or other elements you don’t want to show up. Also, check if there are any HTML or links at the start of your email that could be interfering with this.

but the issue persists, consider using a tool like Litmus to see how your email will render across different email clients and devices. This way, you can troubleshoot the issue and make sure the preview text appears as intended.
