Prevent users from changing a Line Item’s Name when adding to Deal

Currently it is possible to add a Product (from the Product Library) to a Deal, and modify its name.

It’s not possible to restrict Name changes (as you can for other Properties) based on Profile or user. This means that Reports on Line Items in a Quote or sold may not be entirely accurate, since the Line Item names may not match if a user inadvertently makes a change. Whilst we can train users not to do that - preventions is better than cure :face_with_thermometer:

My client requires more control over who can make certain changes to the properties on a Line Item when being added to a Deal, but specifically the Name. Would love to see further functionality here to make Products/Line Items more robust please.

Agree, this also screws with my reporting on Line Items, the sales team is even that lazy sometimes that they don’t delete the product to add the right one, they just change the name.

I agree this is very important feature to add. We do not want users adjusting the line item names once added to the line item section as this severly impacts our finanace and accounting team ability to report
