We use RingCentral as our calling service. Using the calling window feature in Hubspot, clicking on a phone number to make a call will launch the inner calling window in every single browser tab that is logged into Hubspot.
I understand the need to keep the outer calling window open in tandem with the calling window that pops open over the Contact or Company record, but the “feature” of popping open a calling window across every single browser tab that has Hubspot open creates a drag on system resources and also consumes rep’s time as they have to close each window separately after the call is finished.
The reps can obviously type in the number or call directly from RingCentral, but the user expectation is that the only calling window that should open is the one on the main browser tab from which the call is being made…

Hi @ENorman7
I see what you mean, that behavior of RingCentral’s embedded dialer opening across every HubSpot tab is not expected and does slow reps down.
The HubSpot calling window is designed to stay pinned to the tab that triggered the call, but in some third-party apps it inherits sessions across all active tabs.
A workaround some teams use is to reduce the number of active HubSpot tabs during calling sessions, or run the integration in a dedicated browser profile where only one tab stays open. Not elegant, but it helps until the vendor patches the behavior
I’d also suggest filing a ticket with HubSpot Support and with RingCentral’s integration team. They can often adjust the embedded iframe behavior or session persistence logic on their side. The HubSpot knowledge base has a quick overview of how calling integrations work heree:
(Make calls in the HubSpot browser )
(Connect and use HubSpot data sync )
Some ops teams solve similar multi-tab annoyances by layering their integrations through a sync platform that keeps systems aligned in real-time, so they don’t need to rely as much on embedded pop-ups at all. That way the CRM and telephony data stay consistent in the background without reps wrestling with extra windows.
Hope this helps.
This issue is not only with Ring Central, we have the exact same issue with Zoom, where the HS call box opens in all open windows. The workaround suggested to me via HS Support was to call from the contact record directly, insted of the preview card. I’m still testing this in our portal, but it doesn’t seem like this in an intended outcome when the “Updated Calling Remote” update was pushed out oln 6/25/25.
