Hi everyone, in HubSpot Forms we’ve noticed that when we add new options to an underlying contact property (Settings → Properties), those new options can show up automatically on forms that use that property. Is there a setting or recommended approach to keep forms “locked” so only the options we explicitly select for that form appear?
We’ve had a few unexpected (“phantom”) options appear on forms that don’t seem to match what we configured. Any guidance on expected behavior and how to prevent this would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve run into that before HubSpot sometimes auto-syncs new property options in ways that aren’t obvious. Locking the form fields manually usually helps. To prevent this, edit the form field and switch it from “All options” to “Selected options”, then manually choose only the values you want displayed. That effectively locks the form from inheriting future property updates.
There isn’t a global setting to freeze this behavior, so the safest approach is to use “Selected options” for the forms and restrict who can modify property values.
Hi everyone, I see this issue is marked as “solved” but I haven’t found a solution, since this problem still persists.
Using “Selected Options” does not prevent new options from being added when the property is updated. As a result, we have to implement a significant workaround, which is especially problematic given that we have more than 1,500 forms affected by this issue.
