Prevent auto-populating the 'To' field within Company emails

I would like the ability to turn off the feature that auto-populates contacts into the To field of an email that is started within a company record.
I notice that HubSpot is auto-populating up to the first 20 associated contacts of a company when an email is started from a company.

If the company has 140 assocaited contacts and we only want the email to go to 2 - 5 of them, then it’s more work to remove all the auto-populated contacts as HubSpot just seems to pick a random 20.

I concur.

Feature Request: Option to Disable Auto-Adding All Contacts When Emailing from a Company Record

Summary:
Currently, when composing an email from a company record, HubSpot automatically populates the “To” field with all associated contacts. This behavior is problematic for businesses that use HubSpot for support, account management, or other non-sales communications, where messages are often intended for a single contact or a small subset.

Why This Matters:

  • Creates risk of sending sensitive or irrelevant information to unintended recipients.
  • Adds unnecessary manual work to remove contacts every time.
  • Limits flexibility for teams that use HubSpot beyond sales (e.g., support, operations, vendor communication).

Proposed Solution:

  • Add a toggle or setting in account preferences to control whether HubSpot auto-populates all contacts when emailing from a company record.
  • Alternatively, prompt the user with a recipient selection dialog before sending, allowing them to choose which contacts to include.

Benefits:

  • Reduces errors and improves compliance.
  • Saves time for users who frequently email from company records.
  • Makes HubSpot more versatile for non-sales use cases.
