The problem: Even if a person is a known, cookied contact, the email address field remains blank on the first “page” of Hubspot Meeting Forms where the “Prioritize Contact Owner” checkbox is selected.
While not ideal, if we could add the contact’s email address as a URL parameter to the Meeting Form page or iframe address, that would also work in many scenarios, but that’s not currently supported either.
The goal: To reduce friction and work for known/cookied contacts trying to book a meeting with us.
Value: More meetings booked, less annoyed site visitors.
Example User Case: We have a custom non-Hubspot form on a page that does some logic checks server side after it’s submitted, utiliziing a Serverless function. Depending on a few conditions (such as what their current Lifecycle stage is), we route them to a different thank you page with a different meeting form on each thank you page.
As it stands we’re forced to make them enter their email address a second time (on that second page) and it would be much nicer to be able to prepopulate it for them since they just gave it to us on the prior page. In our use case, since we have their email address availble, supplying it to the Meeting Form iframe via a query parameter would be more than sufficient.
To be clear, not asking for the first email step to be removed – I understand the importance to check for contact owner for the Round Robin approach. But allowing it to be prefilled automatically (or manually via URL parameter) would be a great quality of life improvement for both site owners and site visitors.
