Phone Ext Validation Rule Not Enforced on Form Submission

Hi Community,

I created a custom property called Phone Ext on the Contact object and applied validation rules to prevent users from entering special characters (such as ^, &, (, )) or alphabetic characters.

However, during testing, I created a form that included the Phone Ext field and was able to submit a value such as “sbhd” without receiving any validation error. This allowed the form to be submitted successfully, which is not the expected behavior.

Interestingly, after the form submission, when I attempted to manually update the Phone Ext value in the contact record, the validation rule worked correctly and displayed an error message. This indicates that the validation is being enforced during record updates but not during form submissions.
