Personalization Tokens Have Stopped Working

I am working on an email with several personalization tokens. I checked it 4-5 times, sending to myself as a different specific recipient each time and the tokens all worked. I was just about to schedule when I realized I needed to drop a few people from the list. Rather than edit the list, I created a new list of the people I wanted to drop, uploaded it, and added it to the email as a “do not mail to” list. After that when I tested again, the personalization tokens no longer worked. I removed the “do not mail to” list, and tested again, and still no luck. At no point after the successful token tests did I edit the content of the email at all, just the lists. When I look at the original list, I can still see that all the fields needed for the tokens are populated with data for every record.

I then cloned an old, previously successful email that used the same tokens and tested as a specific recipient, and that one doesn’t work either even though when we sent it, it did work. Again, no edits to content whatsoever. It’s like this functionality just stopped working all of a sudden. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Hey @JPhelanTC your lists definitely shouldn’t affect personalization tokens at all. It may be some setting but it’s impossible to troubleshoot without seeing the emails. It looks like you’re an enterprise customer, I’d definitely recommend reaching out to HubSpot support for this as they’ll be able to access your emails and help troubleshoot this further and raise a ticket with engineering if it is a bug!
