Persona verification succeeds, but HubSpot rejects 2FA removal on Free account

I am locked out of my HubSpot Free account associated with my personal email dj@jimwooley.com.

I successfully reset my password, but login still requires approval through the HubSpot Mobile App. I no longer have access to that authentication method and do not have backup codes.

I selected Reset authentication device and completed HubSpot’s Persona identity-verification process twice. Persona successfully captured and accepted my government ID and selfie. However, after clicking Continue, HubSpot returned:

“There was an error removing your two-factor authentication and/or passkeys. Unable to verify your identity.”

The HubSpot return page showed removalStatus=rejected.

I am the only user or Super Admin on this Free account, so there is no other administrator available to reset my 2FA.

Can a HubSpot Community manager or employee please escalate this as an account-access recovery issue or failed automated 2FA verification, rather than ordinary Free-account product support?

I can provide screenshots and complete any further identity verification privately, but I will not post identification documents publicly.

Hi @PieCom,

Thank you for posting to the Community!

I’d recommend to fill out the form on this page to get in touch with HubSpot Support! They will be able to provide next steps and possibly reset the 2FA on the backend
