I’ve been notified by a colleague that certain people in a mailing list are not receiving the email. There are two (static) lists in order for them to work in a workflow
-Daily mailer
-Weekly mailer
I can see the people are on the lists and the workflow has been operating for over a month. It begs the question are any of the people on either list receiving the email.
Any help I can get with fixing this will be greatly appreciated
Hi @ONightingale,
When you open the automated email under Menu > Marketing > Email, there is a Recipients tab. In this tab, you’ll see a Not sent section where you should also see an explanation as to why some contacts did not receive an email.
Common reasons why emails are not being sent are:
Are you using the marketing contacts functionality? If yes, are all recipients marked as marketing contacts? (HubSpot will not send emails to non-marketing contacts.)
Are you suppressing unengaged contacts in the Recipients tab of the email? If yes, you could uncheck the box. Otherwise HubSpot will exclude these contacts.
Are you using an exclusion / suppression list in the Recipients tab of the email? (Do not send to dropdown)
Do you have the GDPR settings enabled? If yes, you might have restricted email sends to contacts who have a legal basis for communication only. In that case, you would have to update your contact subscriptions.
Have some of the contacts previously bounced? You can check by filtering your recipient list by “Email hard bounce reason is known”.
Did you already hit your monthly email send limit? (5X marketing contact tier)
Have some of the contacts previously unsubscribed? You can check by filtering your recipient list by “Unsubscribed from all email is equal to True”
Generally, an email might also be shown as delivered in HubSpot and still not received. A receiving email service provider does not have to send back an error message. In that case, HubSpot has some troubleshooting steps here: Understand why contacts didn't receive marketing emails
Best regards!
Hi Karsten,
Thanks for this, it was your first suggestion under comman reasons, they are non marketing contacts. I’m assuming they’ll have to fill in the form again in order to become marketing contacts?
Hi @ONightingale,
You would have to check your form settings. Under the Options tab, you can select that contacts submitting this form should automatically become marketing contacts. Keep in mind that this is a billing feature, not a consent feature. Understand marketing contacts
Best regards!
