There was a new UI update that affects the contents of the automated emails you receive when someone makes a payment through a payment link. As someone who has multiple payment links for different campaigns, I used to be able to see what campaigns the payments were assocaited to based on the product/line item associated with the payment. Now, the emails just display the amount and the customer. If I want to know what campaign the payment is for, I have to go into Hubspot. This is a major decrease in efficiency, especially when I have up to 8 campaigns at once all receiving payments.
Can there be a way to change the layout of these emails so we can see what payment link or line item the payments are associated to? This update making the emails more minimalistic makes my life way harder, and I’m assuming I’m not alone and this affects other customers with multiple payment links.
Hi @zmiranda122,
Since this sounds like a product enhancement rather than a configuration issue, I’d recommend posting it in the HubSpot Ideas forum. You can upvote and add a comment on this existing idea: " Payments - Allow modification to payment notification email " If other customers are experiencing the same pain point, upvotes can help the product team prioritize it.
Hi @zmiranda122 and welcome, we are delighted to have you here!
Thank you for sharing your experience with the HubSpot Community and providing such detailed feedback (with screenshots) about the recent UI update!
I can see how having product or campaign details directly in the payment notification emails helped streamline your process.
As @UlianaV mentioned, I’d recommend adding your suggestion about customizing the email layout or including payment link or line item details on this existing idea: " Payments - Allow modification to payment notification email ". This way our product team can consider it for future improvements.
That said, I’d love to hear from our Top Experts: Hi @UlianaV, @danmoyle and @HubDoPete can you think of a workaround in the meantime to help @zmiranda122, please?
Also, here is an article that might be of interest for this @zmiranda122: Choose your workflow actions
Have a wonderful day! And thank you all for your contributions!

Welcome to the Community @zmiranda122! +1 for the Ideas suggestion from @UlianaV. I’ve seen feature requests shared there with success. Especially when you have such a good use case and screenshots.
As you’ve found, HubSpot’s built-in payment notification layout doesn’t offer field-level customization. Notification settings control whether users receive payment notifications, not the content of that system email.
I think your subscription should support payment-based workflows. I think a practical alternative to consider is building a workflow triggered by a successful payment and use Send internal email notification. That workflow action can send a rich-text internal email to users, teams, or owners, and it can use workflow data variables for personalization. Payment properties are also available for use in workflows, and payment-link usage can be used for segmentation/workflow-driven automation. Then you could turn off the standard payment-received email only after confirming the workflow notification contains all required context.
I think the workflow approach should restore campaign-level alerting. But it should be a workaround, not a replacement for restoring useful context in HubSpot’s native payment notification.
Here’s what I’d try to build for the workaround workflow: 1) Use distinct, descriptive payment-link and/or line-item names for each campaign. 2) Trigger a payment-based workflow when the payment is successful. 3) Send an internal alert containing the payment amount, buyer, payment-link/source field if available, campaign-identifying property, and the payment-record URL.
Hope that helps!
