Pass environment variable in to Custom CRM Card

I’m using Custom CRM Cards to integrate a CRM Card and trying to pass the environment specific CRM Card URL using a .env file and dotenv node package. But, it seems like the URL is getting undefined. Is it possible to use .env file with Custom CRM Cards?
