I keep trying to add padding to a photo to center it next to the word blob next to it. It will allow me to add the padding but it doesn’t move the picture at all. Is this a bug that needs fixed or did the capabilities of this feature change?

@AFrazier7 can you share more details please, possibly screenshots or a link? Are you working on a website template or using an existing template and modifying a module? or are you working on an email template?

Absolutely. I am creating a newsletter email and typically we can adjust the picture placement by adjusting the padding but it is not moving the picture no matter how much padding I use, it keeps it in line with the text box header.

Thank you @AFrazier7 is this a custom template? If so, the dev might have locked down the settings so even though you see the option to set the padding, it is being controlled by CSS instead. How does it look on the content tab? if it’s not a custom template, did you create this section manually with drag-and-drop?

sorry for all the questions! it’s tough to say what’s going on without being able to click around in the email itself 🙂

I completely understand! Here is a screenshot of the Content side. I cloned an old email, however, I had the employee who set up these templates and the email formatting originally check as well and they are not able to adjust anything either. I used a saved section on this email template as this newsletter is a double header and has 2 main focuses. I also tried using a new section from the options above on the add tab and I still cannot get it to work at all. I also tried creating a brand new email “from scratch” no template and it still does not move the image like it used to do when I added padding. Included a few more screenshots of the areas I am talking about.

This is super helpful @AFrazier7 - especially testing a new email vs the clone to verify that the functionality is the same on both.

Since you’re using a saved section, I opted to create a new layout from scratch to see if I can recreate the padding issue.’

I couldn’t get the padding to accept a large value like 1000, but I did notice if I checked “apply to all sides” I could force a change that was really subtle and if I chose values in a normal range it would make some modifications - it seemed to be limited by my original image size somehow.

[Here’s a loom](https://www.loom.com/share/515696990689453aa2982b0b253aaabd?sid=51cfa66c-8e1c-47b2-8374-919b484ff644) showing the edits I was able to make - it looks like the padding is maxed out at 40px and only adjusts more ore less depending on the size of your image (for example a square image obviously has more left/right padding than a rectangle)

I have located a past double header newsletter where we were able to use the padding function to center the image to the text box so I could screen shot and show you what I mean. I wasn’t trying to necessarily add 1000 padding, I was just showing that no matter how much I put in there it did not change the position of the image. I cloned the old email to show you what the settings were on this one where the padding function worked properly but when I go to change the amount of padding it put the image back at the top and will not move it at all in the cloned email now. Screen shots to show the difference.

@AFrazier7 understood, I figured you were just testing it with the 1000px, but I couldn’t get it to accept anything over 40. It’s interesting that the original shows 63px, there’s definitely something that’s changed.

It’s hard to know if this is a bug or result of another change, but it would be worth reaching out directly to HubSpot Support (submit a ticket via chat, email, or phone). You can share this thread with them to provide more context, hopefully they’ll be able to find a resolution for you quickly!

Thank you! I will do that now!
