Note on Owners API Overview page ([https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/methods/owners/owners\_overview](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/methods/owners/owners_overview)) suggests that HubSpot users and owners may be different because the users can be imported from Salesforce. While the Get owners API page ([https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/methods/owners/get\_owners](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/methods/owners/get_owners)) says - “Owners are automatically created and updated in HubSpot when new users are added or existing owners are synced from Salesforce.” Which one should I trust? Is it safe to assume that the list of owners will include the list of users? What is the best way to get all HubSpot users through API/Webhooks?

Hi @deepanker

These are both valid statements but are slightly misleading in their appearance (I’ll make a note of this feedback with our Team internally!)

To provide clarification, when a `User` is created in HubSpot, this becomes a valid option as a `Contact Owner`.

At the same time, if you have a Salesforce Integration that syncs across `Contacts` that have a `Contact Owner` whom is not a User in your Portal, this value will exist as a `Contact Owner` only.

Therefore, when using this endpoint, you can receive an `Owner ID` that is not specific to a User as it relates to the Owner that has synced from Salesforce.

I hope this helps!
