Hi HubSpot Community,

I would like some assistance with configuring how deal probabilities are handled in my HubSpot account. I currently have a custom dropdown propertythat I use to assign deal probabilities. My goal is for the percentage selected from this custom property to overwrite HubSpot’s default deal probability, which usually changes when a deal moves stages.

I want to ensure that the value I select in the custom dropdown is always the primary deal probability and doesn’t get overwritten by HubSpot’s automatic updates when moving between stages. Could you please guide me on the best way to implement this, possibly through workflows, deal rules, or any other method?

Hi @CDeMares,

Assuming that your custom deal probabiliby property is a number property, it could be as simple as the deal-based workflow shown below:

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Hi @CDeMares

Here is an article on how [Deal probability works](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/hubspots-default-deal-properties#:~:text=given%20this%20deal.-,Deal%20probability,-%3A%20the%20probability) the standard way

and also how it works when updated manually (or by other sources)

If you are setting this up with a workflow

review the WF for possible errors it might have

and review the number format you are using (just in case)

Hope this helps
