Outlook Contact Sync ONLY with a certain Contact List

We are currently implementing the Outlook <--> Hubspot contact * email synchronization.

We can’t find a way to sync only PARTICULAR contacts with Hubspot (e.g. only synchronizing a certain Contact List instead of ALL contacts associated to an email address).

Every employee (we are a small company with only 8 employees) has both private AND business contacts in his/her Outlook contacts. We want to avoid synchronzing for example private contacts into Hubspot.

Is there any solution to this?! This is absolutely crucial for us, particularly before we upgrade our subscription.

here are two parts to achieving your goals:

(1) Set up the HubSpot Sales Chrome Extension

The HubSpot Sales Chrome extension is a browser extension for Chrome that allows you to track and log your emails sent from Outlook and use some of the HubSpot sales tools directly in your inbox. You will need to add this to your Outlook.

(2) Track and log emails with the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension

Once the extension ahs been set up, you can start to log emails that you want to see in your portal before they are sent out. I’m sharing the step-by-step guide here on how you can log an email. You should also set your default log setting to be turned off so only the emails that you select to log will be synced to your HubSpot portal.

Thank you for the reply! I have already installed the Sales Extension in Outlook and have been using/testing it for a while. I understand that by turing off he default log, I can make sure that I emails/contacts are not automatically logged/created in Hubspot.

However, I am not really concerned about the funtion of email logging. We are in the process of on-boarding the first team member here and we do not know how to synchronize all our contacts each of us has in Outlook with Hubspot.

The goal is, that EVERYONE in the company can access the same contacts in Hubspot AND in his Outlook. And the trick is to EXCLUDE private contacts of each individual user from the sync.
