# Opt Out List

Hi Community,

If I import contacts as an opt out list in HubSpot, does this mean that these contacts cannot recieve marketing emails. Or does this also mean that they cannot receive emails from sequences, 1:1 emails in the sales hub?

Hi @AprilG,

Correct, no more marketing emails but sales emails on a case-by-case basis.

This is explained in the knowledge base article about opt-out lists: [Import opted-out contacts](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/import-an-opt-out-list)

Yes, after confirming a one-time legal basis that shouldn’t be an issue.
