Opportunities Lose Account Links in SF after SF-HS Mapping Updates

I have a recurring issue: every time I am adding new field in current mapping SF <> HS integration, HubSpot is somehow disassociating Opportunities from their Accounts in Salesforce, while everything remains unchanged in HubSpot.

I asked Salesforce team to export me examples of those Opportunities, then check their “properties history” and Sync status - everything is okay, “record is synced with Salesforce”.

Second thing which I did was to export all (current and past errors) to excel, and then find if in this list of all affected records are included this deals which were dissconeccetd from their account in Salesforce. Unfortunately I hadn’t found it.

This happens every time if I add some new fields in mapping and accourd only in relation between Account - Opportunities.

The technical team had suggested turning off the contact-company auto association in HS; but that hasn’t worked.

Do you have any ideas?

Hey @AnnaJancy, thank you for posting in our Community!

Please, double-check all your integration settings in both Salesforce and HubSpot to ensure that everything is configured correctly. Sometimes, small misconfigurations can cause unexpected behavior. Since the issue seems to occur after adding new fields in the mapping, thoroughly review the field mappings between Salesforce and HubSpot. Ensure that the new fields are mapped correctly and that there are no conflicts causing the disassociation.

To our top experts **@LouiseHare, @Jnix284 **any recommendations for @AnnaJancy matter?

Thank you,

Pam

I’ve noticed issues such as not sending data because pick lists have
missing values or permissions issues preventing edits. However, the
disconnection of Accounts with Opportunities seems to be related to backend
settings on the Salesforce side, possibly influenced by API changes. Could
this be part of the problem? Is there any way to access the logs from the
API integration?

@AnnaJancy Here’s a focused plan to tackle the issue of Opportunities losing their Account links in Salesforce after you update the SF-HS field mappings:

  1. Recheck Mappings: Start by revisiting your mapping configuration. Ensure that the field mappings for Opportunities and Accounts haven’t been misconfigured or altered unintentionally when adding new fields.
  2. Integration Logs Review: Dive into the integration logs within both HubSpot and Salesforce. Look for any errors or unusual entries that coincide with the times you made changes to the mappings.
  3. Testing in Controlled Environments: If you have access to a sandbox or test environment, replicate the changes there before applying them to your live environment. This could help identify what’s causing the disassociation without impacting your real data.
  4. Incremental Mapping Changes: Apply changes one at a time to determine exactly which change is causing the problem. This approach can help isolate the issue and find a workaround.
  5. Feedback Loop: Keep a tight feedback loop with your Salesforce team as well. Sometimes the issue might stem from how Salesforce processes changes coming from HubSpot.
