Openphone not integrating with HubSpot

Hi
I just started subscribing to a paid version of HubSpot and open phone. But for some reason, I’m not able to integrate both of them. When I click on a contact phone number the only option I got I get is HubSpot dialing Pad.
Wanted to check in if anyone had this problem and how they solve it. I’ve been speaking both to open phone and HubSpot and I’m not getting anywhere.
Maybe someone has figured it out..

Thank You

Hey, @YTilahun11 :waving_hand: Thanks for your question. I found a few related posts, but none that address your issue. Third-party apps like this one are not supported by HubSpot Support, and you will likely need to reopen your support case with the app creator directly. We’ll also leave this open in case other community members have any feedback for you — OpenPhone Support.

Best,

Jaycee

Hi @YTilahun11 I’ve seen this come up a few times.

Right now, OpenPhone doesn’t have a fully supported HubSpot integration that replaces the native dialer. That’s why when you click a phone number in HubSpot, you only see HubSpot’s own calling pad.

The official OpenPhone app listing notes the limitation: it’s more of a logging integration than a deep telephony embed see HubSpot’s app marketplace here: (Portal Recommend | HubSpot)

A common workaround is to use OpenPhone’s Chrome extension or desktop app for click-to-call, while relying on HubSpot’s integration to log calls automatically.

If you want to keep everything inside HubSpot’s contact view, that’s trickier because HubSpot’s CTI embed framework only works with partners that have built a certified calling integration

(Use a calling app to make and receive calls in HubSpot)

From your post it sounds like you’re stuck in between both vendors pointing at each other. Unfortunately, the only path to have OpenPhone replace HubSpot’s native dialer is if OpenPhone expands their CTI connector. You might want to push their support team specifically on “HubSpot CTI embed support” instead of just general integration

Slight tangent, but your frustration resonates with something I see often: companies expect “seamless” connections between HubSpot and outside tools, but integrations are brittle or one-sided.

That’s exactly why we built Stacksync to give teams a reliable sync layer when native integrations fall short. We focus more on CRM > ERP > database data sync than telephony, but the principle is the same: instead of depending on limited vendor-built apps, you get a managed two-way sync that’s real-time and doesn’t break as data scale

It’s saved teams 40% of engineering time they’d otherwise spend chasing down these gaps.

Happy to share more if useful.
