Oauth Error: The account you selected is a developer account. This app can't be installed on

Hello,

We have an app and are switching to use oAuth as our authentication method. We are given this error after selecting our developer account and app on the redirect page: “The account you selected (NUMBER) is a developer account. This app can’t be installed on a developer account.”

However, the developer accounts say that integrations are allowed. We are just switching the authentication method. The redirect uri and redirect page bring us to the right page as we can click our own app.

HubSpot Account Types - HubSpot docs based on this link we should be able to do this integration on our current developer account.

Guidance and ideas needed. Thank you!

Hey, @MKumpf2 Thanks for reaching out. There are two types of developer accounts available in HubSpot. I want to make sure you are trying to use the correct one to install your app.

• There are App developer accounts and Developer test accounts.
• App developer accounts cannot have apps installed on them, they are for creating apps to be installed on other portals.
• Developer test accounts are created from App developer accounts and can have apps installed on them.
• App developer accounts (cannot install apps on) will have a banner and navigation like this (screenshot)

• Developer test accounts (can install apps on) will have a banner and navigation like this (screenshot)

The fastest way to verify this is to log into your App developer account and create a Developer test account and try installing the app there.
