A fully revamped version of Sequences is now available to all Sales and Service Hub Professional and Enterprise customers. The latest updates give sales reps the freedom to bulk enroll up to 50 contacts in a sequence at one time, pause their sequences based on task completion, and keep track of overall sequence performance with new sender score reports.

The latest improvements to sequences make it easier and more efficient for sales reps to not only _automate_ their sales process, but _orchestrate_ their sales process with more flexibility and control than ever before.

Reps can now enroll up to 50 contacts in a sequence at once. Contacts that have bounced, unsubscribed, or are currently enrolled in a sequence will be removed before a rep is brought to the enrollment screen:

When creating a sequence, reps will now have the option to pause the sequence based on task completion. By default, uncompleted tasks _will_ pause a sequence:

_Note that the behavior of any sequences created prior to this update will NOT change._

All of these improvements also come with a new send limit for sequences. Instead of limiting users to 150 enrollments/day, limits are increasing to 500 automated 1:1 email _sends_ per day in Professional and 1000 automated 1:1 email _sends_ per day in Enterprise.

This change gives reps more flexibility with their sequence enrollments, while still maintaining the safeguards required to prevent spammy email behavior (and the repercussions that follow, like decreases in email deliverability).

To encourage responsible sequence sending, we’ve also introduced new “Sender Score Reports” which are designed to give insight into a rep’s average sequence performance:

With sender score, managers can monitor spammy behavior and coach their team on optimizing for replies.

All of these updates are now live to Sales and Service Hub Professional and Enterprise customers.

Why can’t automated tasks default to not send until the previous task is complete? Example - enroll a contact to a sequence with a manual email task → automated email due in 2 days, but the automated email is being sent withouth the first step being completed prior. I noticed the checkbox for “pause sequence until step is completed,” and in the post it states the default is a check in the pause box; however, upon further review, that is no longer holding true and defaulting to pause the sequence, which would have been good to know before the automated email went out before Step 1 was completed.

Apologies - my previous comment was terse due to frustration that potential customers received messages not intended to be sent yet. Basically, the default action to pause the sequence until a manual task is complete is not longer in effect, and I found that I need to go through each step when enrolling a contact to click the box.

Hey @CarolinaKG ,thank you for your feedback!

To unenroll a contact from a sequence:

- From the **Contacts** page, click the contact’s **name**.
- Click **Unenroll** above the contact’s image in the upper left.
- From the **Sequences** page, click the **Scheduled** tab.
- Hover over a contact that’s active in your sequence and click **Unenroll**.

Thank you, @PamCotton. My is that the ‘default’ setting to “_Pause sequence until task is complete_” is not actually the default (unchecked when enrolling). Currently, the “_Enroll contacts in sequence_” default is not checked, which meant subsequent steps in sequences started running before I was able to work through the manual tasks that should be completed before that following steps should run (see below).

The current workaround is to manually check each “pause sequence” box for each manual step, which means there are a number of boxes to check. Is there a way to set the default to **always** pause the sequence until a manual step is completed?

Hey @CarolinaKG, While there isn’t a direct setting to change the default behavior to always pause the sequence until a manual step is completed, we can explore some workarounds or possibly escalate this as a feature request to our development team.

I would highly recommend you to please post this idea at our ideas forum ([**here**](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/custom/page/page-id/ideaslandingpage)).

Our product team, who monitors the forum regularly, can read your specific use case and understand why this would be a useful functionality or change. It also helps other customers facing the same issue to advocate for its implementation on your behalf by upvoting on the thread as well.

Kindly,

Pam
