I only use Hubspot to host my website. We do not engage in email marketing in our industry. I have a list of every single customer from my ERP who has received an invoice or statement from a purchase from us, and I want to send them a pricing update email to warn of severe price changes due to the war. I thought I could use Hubspot to do this, but it seems like I would have to convert them all to marketing contacts, and I am not in a place where I can (or need) to purchase a Hubspot tier for 5000+ emails. I only need to find a way to legally send this information out, and my ERP cannot support it. Is there a way to send this as a “non marketing” email?
On a Marketing Hub Starter subscription, no. Contacts would have to be marketing contacts for you to send any type of email. There is no way to work around that or to bypass that marketing contact status requirement within HubSpot.
On the Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise tier, there is the transactional email email add-on (paid). @JenL If it’s truly an informational/transactional update not promotional, you may be able to use transactional email HubSpot Transactional Email add-on API. This doesn’t require marketing contacts but needs setup approval.

Use a basic bulk email tool or your email provider if it allows one-time sending within limits
Important: even if it’s not marketing bulk emails still require proper consent depending on your region, so make sure these contacts are allowed.
