Hey Everyone! I’m Maggie. 
I am currently the Director of Marketing for a small job board company in Lancaster, Pa. I’ve been in the industry for 10 years, but I’ve never had any formal training! I cut my teeth on link building and still enjoy doing it to this day, but it’s definitely gotten more and more difficult each year. I decided to take this course to brush up on my skills and make sure that I’m being as effective and efficient as possible in my role. I wouldn’t say there is a specific SEO project that I’m currently working on. Instead, I’m trying to increase my skillset and get better at my job so that I can increase the health and well-being of the different websites that I manage.
My best SEO recommendation is to always, always, always focus on the user. You can optimize your pages and website as much as possible, but at the end of the day if the content doesn’t resonate with the user then your hard work won’t produce the results you’re looking for. Bonus tip: HARO is amazing for building relationships and therefore links! Happy SEOing.

We’re a non-profit organization that equips and mobilizes local churches to respond to crisis in Central Texas and beyond. If you remember February’s winter storms and how they buried Texas this year, then you know the kind of work we do. We also respond to hurricanes, tornados, and other disasters of all sizes - about 80-100 disasters a year.

It’s great to see so many talented and curious people in one space! My name is Halie. I am currently a marketing coordinator at a small Toledo-based software company. My specific focus is on the creation and coordination of two company podcasts. I actually am new to marketing. I did almost two years in recruitment and onboarding before graduating with an HR degree. Directly after that, I accepted the position I have now in June of 2021, though I am with the same company. My goal is to improve my understanding of various aspects of marketing and as SEO was probably the biggest question mark upon taking my position, I am excited about this course.
As far as current SEO projects, I do not have a specific one. Instead, I am gradually working to make sure our marketing efforts are consistent with our brand and our goals as a company and SEO is definitely a huge part of that. While content relating to the podcasts is my priority my role has quickly grown to aid in more aspects of their department.
If I have any useful advice and as a complete noob to the industry, it’s that providing visitors/customers/viewers/readers with a clear understanding of what they’re visiting your site for and why they should want to is vital. I have loved writing for years and have discovered that consistency and a clear brand help people better identify and resonate with your content. This is true for writing I did in college courses, blogs I’ve created for the podcasts, and even something as simple as fanfiction writing I did in high school (my inner nerd is showing).
Anyway, I hope to connect to many of you and am excited to learn more!
