Just noticed this new “feature” where it won’t display all of a longer email thread.
I get the issue, it can be a pain if there is a really long email chain, especially if it shows it repeatedly for each reply.
The problem I have is that if I want to refer to that email while writing a reply, there is no way to do so. Clicking View Email opens a new window, causing the loss of your current email.
But even CTRL+clicking it ignores this and still just opens the email in the same window, again causing loss of the current email.
You are not able to right click and choose open in new tab.
This should really be fixed. There has to be a better way to display email threads instead of this. At the VERY LEAST, clicking view email should open it in a new thread of allow us to with one of the above methods.
Hey @danny2327,
Thanks for posting in the Community!
We hear you, and we agree this would be a pain point for anyone working out of their CRM. For this, we highly recommend posting this need directly in our Ideas Forum. It would allow other users to upvote your idea, expand on it, and present the need directly to our Product team.
I hope this helps!

this is a frustrating one and you are right that the current behaviour is a poor UX decision on HubSpot’s part.
The honest answer is there is no native fix right now. The “View Email” link not respecting Ctrl+click or right-click open in new tab is a known limitation and HubSpot has not addressed it.
The best workaround in the meantime is to open the contact or deal record in a separate browser tab before you start writing your reply. From there you can navigate the full email thread without losing your draft. It adds a step but it is the most reliable way to reference previous emails while composing.
The other option is to use the expand/collapse toggle on the thread to keep the relevant part of the chain visible in the same window while you write, though I appreciate that does not work well on longer chains.
Worth submitting this through the HubSpot Ideas forum if you have not already. This kind of UX issue gets more traction when it has votes behind it.
