We are attempting to integrate our internal CRM with Hubspot. We’re running into a bit of a roadblock though. Our system has one field: name. Hubspot has two required properties: first name and last name. We find that our format is better for different cultures with long full names. Our current workaround is to have our CRM put the full name into the first name field of the Hubspot contact. Might there be a better way to go about this?

You can definitely create contact with only the first name property filled. HubSpot doesn’t require both the first name and last name property to be filled in order to create a contact.
That said, I’m curious to know if you’re having issue creating contact with only the first name property filled? If so, could you share with me the following so that I can further dig into this on my end:
1. HubSpot portal ID in question
2. The error that you’re seeing (if any)
3. A detailed process of how you’re creating the contact
Additionally, where are you seeing the information that state that HubSpot required both first name and last name?
