Move deal in pipeline when a contact property changes at any time

Hi all

I’m looking for some help please, if anyone can.

I would like my deal to automatically move to the next stage in my pipeline if a particular contact property changes at any time. What would be the best way to go about this?

Hi @GPinder,

This could be achieved with a deal-based workflow:

  • Enroll deals by clicking ‘Set up triggers’ > ‘When filter criteria is met’, then change the ‘Filtering on’ dropdown that appears in the (second) left sidebar from ‘Deal (current object)’ to ‘Contact’ and, under ‘Contact properties’, find your property that should trigger the change - set the filter accordingly
  • After enrollment, use the ‘Set property value’ workflow action to update the ‘Deal pipeline and stage’ to the desired stage

You might want to further limit enrolment to deals that have a deal stage before the one you’re planning to update the enrolled deal to, otherwise this workflow could reopen closed deals, for example.

Thank you for replying and for your help - I have tried your steps (I’ve attached a picture), but for some reason it isn’t working. Can you see an issue with what I have entered?

@GPinder looks good - when you say it doesn’t work, what exactly does that mean? Are deals you’d expect to enroll not enrolling? If so, can you use the ‘Test deal’ option in the left sidebar on a deal you’d expect to enroll?

There was an error on my end (internet connection) and it’s now working! Thank you so much for your help, I have been trying to solve this for weeks!
