Problem:
In HubSpot, when a note is associated with multiple objects (e.g. a contact, a deal, and a company), there is no way to identify where the note was originally created. This leads to confusion, especially when viewing notes in a company record — it’s not clear whether the note was relevant to that company or just brought in through associations.
Requested Features:
- Display the originating object in the note UI (e.g. “Created in Deal: XYZ” or “Logged from Contact: John Doe”) so we can understand the context directly from the note.
- Allow filtering notes based on their associations, so we can choose to only see notes directly created in the company record, or only those linked to deals or tickets.
- Give users control over default note associations — e.g. when creating a note from a ticket, allow us to configure whether it should be associated with just the ticket, or also the company, contact, etc.
Why it matters:
This would greatly improve clarity and relevance in record timelines, especially for teams that deal with complex object relationships (e.g. support teams working on tickets that touch multiple contacts and companies). It would help avoid clutter and ensure users only see information that’s truly relevant to the object they are working on.
