I am having trouble making my new image / text module work - when I place it on the email template / preview - it does not show up.

What am I missing?

\<div class=“image-text-module”\>
\<div class=“image-container”\>
\<img src=“{{ module.image\_url }}” alt=“{{ module.image\_alt\_text }}” /\>
\</div\>
\<div class=“text-container”\>
\<p\>{{ module.text }}\</p\>
\</div\>
\</div\>

A thread here I read said to include the following - but it is still not working properly

**{% dnd\_area “Main” %}**
\<div class=“image-text-module”\>
\<div class=“image-container”\>

\<img src=“{{ module.image\_url }}” alt=“{{ module.image\_alt\_text }}” /\>
\</div\>
\<div class=“text-container”\>
\<p\>{{ module.text }}\</p\>
\</div\>
\</div\>
**{% end\_dnd\_area %}**

**I’ve attached what it currently shows in the preview**

Id like for it to look similar to this with the image on top and the ability for text to show at the bottom\*\*

Hi @TAlfaro,
It’s currently not possible to create custom dnd email templates.

If this is the module.html from your [custom module](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/cms/building-blocks/modules/files) you can add it to your template like this:

`{% module 'MODULE-NAME' path="PATH-TO-MODULE", label="MODULE LABEL" %}`

Tipp: You don’t need to write this part manually if you don’t like. You can either right-click on the module in the left sidebar and select “copy snippet” or scroll down to the bottom of the right sidebar while editing the module
If you want to add the same module to a dnd area you have to change it to:

`{% dnd_module 'MODULE-NAME' path="PATH-TO-MODULE", label="MODULE LABEL" %}{% end_dnd_module %}`

If you want to use the module in an email you have first make sure that this custom module is available for emails and then add it to a email directly

best,

Anton

Anton,

Thank you for your time. I’m very green so bare with me, I appreciate it.

I’d like to create a module that is allowed to be used in email templates. Would you say that I am currently on the right track, and if not, what else I can do? The trouble that I’m having right now is that it doesn’t show any errors but once I try to slide this module inside the email, the module is blank when I’d like for it to populate an image and an area for text on it. How do I make sure that this custom module is available for emails?

Here is what is currently on my board

\<div class=“image-text-module”\>
\<div class=“image-container”\>
\<img src=“{{ module.image\_url }}” alt=“{{ module.image\_alt\_text }}” /\>
\</div\>
\<div class=“text-container”\>
\<p\>{{ module.text }}\</p\>
\</div\>
\</div\>

No worries I got you!

To make it as easy as possible for you - here’s a [visual step-by-step guide](https://app.hubspot.com/guide-creator/g/ynO5g9Bq0N)how you can create a custom email module.

Note: email clients don’t like divs that much(especially Outlook) which can lead to an incorrect display of the module in the client.

best,

Anton
