I’m trying to use the API calls: /events/v3/events/event-types and events/v3/events/

When I make those calls, I get an error message saying:

“Insufficient scopes, requires one of: [event-detail-read,web-analytics-api-access]”

In my developer portal, I tried to find those scopes to add, but they don’t exist.

I tried adding the business-intelligence scope, but that didn’t help.

Does anyone know how I can add the event-detail-read scope to my app, or how to get events (like emailOpen) without those scopes?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hey, @IvinexHubspot 👋 Does the portal you created the Private App from have access to at least one enterprise-level subscription? I ran a quick test using my dev test portal, a Private App with only the BI scope, and it was successful in returning the expected response. Talk soon! — Jaycee

Hello, Thank you so much for the reply.
The app I’m using is a public app (though I also tried looking for the scopes on a private app and they were not there either).
I don’t know what you mean by the question: “Does the portal you created the Private App from have access to at least one enterprise-level subscription?”

Hey, @IvinexHubspot 👋 Apologies for any confusion from my last reply.

Does the account where your app is installed have an enterprise-level subscription? From the documentation for these endpoints “Use the event analytics API to fetch events associated with CRM records of any type **(Marketing Hub Enterprise, Sales Hub Enterprise, Service Hub Enterprise, or CMS Hub Enterprise only**)”

Can you share a simple example request and response? As tested above, I have an app with only one scope, and it used this endpoint without issue. Seeing exactly how you are sending your request might help give our community members more details. — Jaycee

Thank you for the help. You are correct, the app did not have an enterprise-level subscription. I was using a linked hubspot account that was a deloper account. I didn’t know that the developer account couldn’t use the events API and the error message threw me off.
I tried it with a paid hubspot account with business intelligence and it worked fine. I just needed to add the business intelligence scope.
Thank you for your help.
