# Missing documentation on how to save app settings

Hi All,

We are in the process of developing an app to allow querying of product data from a bespoke external PIM during deal creation. As part of this we need to store a bearer token and URL in the settings of the app so that the card can make calls using these credentials later.

I have read [Create a settings page - HubSpot docs](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/apps/developer-platform/add-features/ui-extensions/extension-points/create-a-settings-page) and [Create a settings page for a legacy public app - HubSpot docs](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/apps/legacy-apps/public-apps/create-an-app-settings-page) and neither explain how to read or save settings within an app other than hinting at ``hubspot.fetch` but without any further context.`

Is there any documentation anywhere on how to achieve this? I’d rather not store the settings in an external system to save/load them with fetch as it is additional overhead and defeats the point of saving a dynamic URL.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Hey @alexr-redfern,

Welcome!

The[**Create a settings page**](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/apps/developer-platform/add-features/ui-extensions/extension-points/create-a-settings-page) documentation does indeed state:  
_“Use **`hubspot.fetch`** to leverage your backend to save and retrieve settings.”_

That said, I’d like to tag in some of our Top Contributors to see if they have any experience with this!
