This week’s featured member is Gene Harris Bio: My name is Gene Harris. I’m based in New Zealand and currently I’m the Social Media Content Creator for MEGA. My background is in animation and storytelling. I’m also a keen artist, sculptor and illustrator. What knowledge or skills are you hoping to gain from our community members? As an artist I’m really two minds about A.I. But, I have to say the ability to quickly take ideas for a walk and visualise concepts is a plus. I’m interested in sharing my findings and also learning from others who are ultilising A.I for work and personal projects. Particularly streamlining workflows and visual media creation. What’s an area / subject you’re passionate about? I’m really passionate about learning new artistic processes. I’m always learning new things and applying them to both my work and personal projects. Whether, it’s A.I, oil painting, resin casting or video editing. You can normally find me engrossed in a book or Youtube video studying new techniques. What current project that you’re working on are you most excited about? Currently, MEGA is on a journey to modernise it’s marketing efforts, which also includes dynamic content creation and marketing tools. I’m currently completing HubSpot modules and certifications to support these efforts. MEGA has over 300 million registered users and a real opportunity to challenge the status quo and take on big tech giants like Google and Amazon. So, I’m exciting to see what the next 5 years will look like. Any opportunities to collaborate that you’d like to share? My dance card is rather full at the moment ha ha. At any one time I have about 6 small personal projects on the go. I believe that investing in your own personal brand is just as important as the brand you work for. I’ve recently just finished a collaboration with a US based artist called André Greppi (a.k.a DRES13) and I have a number of other collaborative projects I’m chipping away on locally and internationally.
