I just wanted to share something I recently discover in case you think I have some set up working wrongly or not properly adjusted.
Long story short, I just discovered that the contacts booking meetings with our sales team with their meetings links were not assigned to them.
Here’s the example:
Imagine my sales rep shares a meetings link with a prospect. He probably is the owner already of that contact, but that contact shares the meetings link with another person in the team that he wants to have the meeting. We don’t have this person on CRM. This Jon Doe (XD) books the meeting. Everything works, BUT it’s not owned by the sales rep, it’s unassigned.
I am fixing this with workflows, but I was just wondering if this is the normal behaviour of the feature or if something can be done so we don’t need the WFs for this.
Hey @MFernandez_VM meeting links should always set the owner of a new contact to the owner of the meeting link. Are you using a team calendar for meeting links or anything like that?
If you check the “owner” through the filter at the top of your meeting link, is each sales rep assigned as an owner to their individual meeting links or is this a group one?
Out of curiosity, if you go into one of the “unassigned” contacts, hover over the contact owner property and select “view history” was this always unassigned? I wonder if there might be something else at play which is unassigning this.

I assumed that was the case, that this was automatically done… I will then probably dig and find new cases and open a hubspot ticket next time it happens!
I’m having a similar issue. Unfortunately we hit some snags while migrating from GHL to Hubspot and now have over 100 contacts that are unassigned - no contact, closer, setter, OR deal owner. So I can’t copy any of that to one another. Is there a way to pull the MEETING OWNER (calendar owner, or something similar) and assign the contact based on the meeting/calendar owner? Thank you!
