We have a need and suggestion that when logging meetings, there should be an option to select whether the meeting is “in-person” or “virtual”. From a management perspective it would beneficial also to be able to report out on those stats logged by users as well.
We recently had a request for this too from our management team. What we decided to do was edit our “call and meeting types” to include whether each value was in person vs virtual. So there were two of each value now (i.e. Prospecting-Virtual, Prospecting-InPerson, Onboarding-Virtual, Onboarding-InPerson…and so on). This allows us to report off the Meeting Type but also report off only the In Person vs Virtual values. They are already selecting meeting type so it gives them to the option now to select type/location in the same field. We plan to delete the old meeting types so they go away/phase out, but the data is still all there as the existing values, so it’s not lost. Our team plans to update those old ones so we can have a clean dataset for the year.
We wanted to add a custom field for a radio button to select in person vs virtual but this would mean creating a new object outside of meetings, and we couldn’t use Meeting Location in the Meeting Scheduler b/c people put all kind of things/links in there so it would be messy reporting. Editing Meeting Type seems to be what will work for us for now. Hope this is helpful!
@BBruss Thanks. We use our Meeting Type for another reason, like which conference the meeting is taking place at or training etc. That’s why we were hoping there could be some type of other selection for the in-person or virtual.
