We think it would be a great idea to block users from scheduling meetings on behalf of other users - when a user is out of the office.
Currently, using the schedule a meeting feature - we can see a user’s calendar - but one can still book meetings over days when a user is marked out of office. It would be good to have similar behaviour as the meeting link tool which blocks meetings from being booked on Out of Office Dates.

Are you sure that is the case? Is the customer actually setting their OOO Blocker in the calendar and is it set to appear as busy?
When I have an OOO Blocker and it is set to “busy” I can’t book or schedule meetings for that time because it is not available.

We’re using Outlook and it’s not flowing across, just with the meetings on the contact page. Booking through Meeting Links works fine. Any ideas if we’re missing a button here?
Upvoting this idea for the following use case:
When support or sales team is manually booking a meeting with account manager via hubspot (using the “meeting” button on a company/contact), there is nothing that prevents them from booking over a future “busy” block on the calendar:

I should have been clearer, apologies, - but this is around scheduling a meeting on behalf of a representative - not the meeting link itself. So if a BDR is scheduling a meeting for an AE - it is possible to insert an event onto the AE’s calendar even if they have a blocked event. In my screenshot below - I can still insert a meeting over the blocked event I have for lunch - whereas those times would not be available for a prospect to book over a meeting link.
Also posting on behalf of a customer - at the moment it is possible to set out of office hours on HubSpot but the meeting scheduler does not take this into account and that leads to confusion
Would it be possible to have the meeting scheduler also take into account the out-of-office hours set on the user’s working hours tab?
+1 I am coming across the need for this in my organization as well, an OOO event should be preventing anyone from setting a meeting up during that time, when scheduling on the record
I can support this idea! 
Meetings do support working hours now, but they do not support scheduled time offs like Help Desk would:
Back on this, we’ve a major campaign going on right now that requires this for meeting rotation not to allow an overlap
So it is kinda like anyone can do in Outlook or GMail and simply ignore any and all blockers - we have all been there with some of our colleagues, haven’t we.
I’d say the issue is the end user taking some care. I am also not sure how HubSpot would fix this if it is something that can be done natively in the respective calendar tools 
@franksteiner79 It can be done when booking a meeting in an external meeting link, so the logic exists, just not in this format, unfortunately
@AMulready That’s because the external facing meeting link checks the free/busy information of calendar entries, but checking a colleagues calender in Outlook or Gmail does not. I still think it’s a user issue. Ignoring HubSpot for a second - what’s preventing your colleagues booking meetings in your calendar and ignoring anything that is in there - nothing. I just don’t see how HubSpot could fix this when it’s not an inherent feature in the actual application…
My team usess Gmail. We have some that are off over the next couple of weeks. In Gmail, the PTO was blocked on a specific employee’s calendar with the “all day” setting in place. And yet, when I checked their Hubspot meetings link, I was still able to book a meeting during the PTO dates. The only way I found as a solution was to block each individual day on that person’s calendar, and instead of using the “all day” tic box in Gmail, I had to enter a time from early morning to late night. This did the job, but it’s less than convenient. I would prefer the ability to insert blocks via the Hubspot meetings tool. Let me know if I’m missing something, overlooking, or overcomplicating it. Thanks.
