I need a way to assign company ownership based on contact ownership. Right now we use the ZoomInfo Integration to pull in contacts. However, apparently the integration does not support assigning account ownership.
I’d first like to make sure all the currently unassigned companies get assigned their proper owner based on who owns the contacts. From there, I’d like to create a workflow that will do this automatically moving foward.
Hey @TAdy there is a setting to automatically assign the company owner to all contacts associated with that company. If this is enabled the company owner will take precedent, however if the company owner is empty it will be auto-populated with the contact owner.
If you want contact owners to always take precedent you could do this through workflows. You can set the enrollment criteria to “contact owner is known”. Then the action would be “copy property value” where you can copy the value for contact owner into the company property. It would look something like this:
Awesome! Thanks for your help. I turned on the setting you mentioned. Didn’t realize it would work in reverse as well.
Could I use a workflow to do a one-off account ownership assignment based on contact ownership so all historical accounts will be up to date?
Definitely! It would just be that workflow I outlined in my original comment, just be sure to select the box to enroll companies/contacts who already meet this criteria and turn it off once you no longer need it
Hey Tom, it seems that the action you showed above for copying property value has changed. I am not able to copy a Contact value to a Company value. Any advice?
