Hi,
I’m in the process of doing a cost benefit analysis of moving our current basic Marketing Hub subscription to the Marketing and Non-Marketing model and was wondering if anyone can explain this term to me - ‘reporting limit increase 1 unit’ that was mentioned as part of the new model being considered. Is this referring to number of Dashboards or Reports ?
Thanks,
Zayeeta
Hi @zdasgupta,
The reporting limit is not related to marketing or non-marketing contacts. It’s simply an increase of the limit of how many reports and dashboards you can create:
Reporting Limit Increase
- $200 per month
- Increase your dashboards limit by 300, and create 3,000 additional custom reports for your team based on any metric in Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, CMS Hub, or Operations Hub. Purchase multiple limit increase packs for additional dashboards and custom report volume.

Hi @zdasgupta
I see you have a Profession subscription, so I would recommend reaching out to your CSM.
I used to work for HubSpot and we have an internal sheet to crunch these numbers for customers. The cost benefit depends on a few things and differs from customer to customer:
- Your current total contact count
- Your own estimate of what percentage of those contacts will be “non-marketing contacts” in the new model.
- Your current discounts
As a rule of thumb (purely based on my own experience) I would say that if you have:
- less than 100k contacts currently
- estimate less than 25% to be non-marketing contacts
- currently have more than 15% discount on your contract
It is unlikely that switching to marketing contacts will save you money. I would also add that switching to marketing-contacts requires some additional admin. I had customers in the past who might have saved 100€ per month but felt it wasn’t worth the additional admin overhead.
I hope that helps.
Frank
Hey @zdasgupta ,
I recently encountered challenges with tracking the count of marketing vs. non-marketing contacts and the associated extra charges. To address this, I developed an app to monitor contact counts and statuses. It’s designed to notify you when the number of contacts increases.
If you’re open to trying it out, please DM me or check it out here.
Full disclosure: I represent the company behind this app. I’m genuinely looking for feedback and hope it can be of help!
Best regards,
