Managing preferences for staff and other mandatory audiences

Is there anyway to prevent people from unsubscribing/managing their preferences when it’s company policy that they must receive our email communications?

For example - we have an internal newsletter for staff. Staff shouldn’t be unsubscribing to our internal newsletter because this includes important information. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Even if we upload a static list, does this mean someone could still unsubscribe and no longer receive the emails?

Nope. Hubspot is intended for external audiences so unfortunately because of that you cannot control or prevent marketing emails from being unsubscribed from as it would violate external comms compliance. You can manually override this if internal employees are unsubscribed and keep subscribing them back in. You could consider alternatives to email like Teams or Slack to communicate these updates.

Hi @JIgnacio2,

This is only possible with the transactional email add-on. This paid add-on allows sending emails without an unsubscribe link to contact regardless of their subscription status: How to Use Transactional Emails to Send Relationship-Based Emails in HubSpot

It’s not exactly what the add-on is meant for but some HubSpot customers use it that way.

Without the add-on, no, it’s not possible to send emails to unsubscribed contacts. HubSpot puts a lot of emphasis on not sending emails to contact where there isn’t a legal basis to send emails – and without the add-on above, there aren’t any ways to work around that.

Best regards!
