Managing contact sharing with 'Business Units'

@Maragosta no problem, happy to clarify how it would work if you have an existing contact.

When you add a contact for Business Unit A, it will create a value for the Business Unit property, but this is a multi-select field, so if you need to add access for Business Unit B it can be done by updating this property.

I have the names blurred here, but the checked option would be Business Unit A and the unchecked would be Business Unit B:

When Business Unit B tries to add the contact that already exists, they’ll get a warning:

At this point, they’d need to reach out to your system admin or someone who has access to all Business Units to make the update and allow this contact to be visible by more than one BU.

You mentioned having 4 companies and 1 sales team - and then later said Sales Team A and Sales Team B.

If you have one Sales Team, they can have access to all BUs with everything else remaining separate by team/BU.

If you have a Sales Team per BU, ideally you’d have someone at the management level to have access to all BUs to remove friction from the process.

It’s been a while since I’ve done any automation around this so I don’t have one built, but depending on how you’re capturing the leads for Sales Team B at the seminar/event you could have the form submission trigger a workflow that updates the Business Unit automatically.

Hope this helps!
