Just reaching out to let you know that after installing the latest Mac OS update today – Ventura 13.5.1 (22G90) – the Hubspot Sales extension caused my machine to be unusable. It was consuming all of the memory on my M1 Macbook Pro and preventing me from using Chrome or any other application.
I have removed the extension for now but will certainly reinstall it once this has been remediated. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to provide further assistance.
Are you sure the Mac OS update is causing an issue with a plugin within Chrome. Are you sure Chrome has not updated or maybe is in need of an update for the latest Mac OS? I would recommend installing Chrome Canary ( Chrome Canary Features For Developers - Google Chrome ) to verify that the issue is not within the current build of Chrome. Also, if it is a bug, I would submit a support ticket as these are primarily user to user support forums even though there are some staff around.
Thanks for the feedback Ben. Both Chrome and Mac OS received updates back to back. It is quite likely that the issue was with the new version of Chrome. In the end, the issue went away after I removed the extension. This morning, I reinstalled the extension and thusfar have had no problems. If this issue resurfaces I will report it as a support ticket.
Just this week I’m experiencing a similar issue. I’m getting a memory leak on Gmail in Chrome (Version 119.0.6045.199 (Official Build) (arm64)) on an M2 Macbook Pro running Sonoma 14.1 (23B74).
Without the Hubspot extension installed, Gmail operates normally in-browser. When I install the Hubspot extension, memory use spikes to ~6-7Gb in about 15 minutes and eventually crashes the tab.
Any recommendations?
