My clients use Google Workspace to host their domain and email. The end users prefer to use Outlook for Mac as their email client. I am starting to realize that this use case is not officially supported with an add-on. But if they used Office 365 as their email host it would work? Is this correct?
Any other ideas for how to integrate Hubspot with Outlook for Mac? I guess BCC to log emails is the worst case scenario outside of trying to convince them to switch to Gmail. Thoughts?

You’re correct, Outlook for Mac with Google workspace isn’t officially supported by HubSpot’s Outlook add-in. The add-in only works when the email is hosted on office 365 or exchange.
If your clients stay on Google Workspace, the best alternatives/workarounds I can think of are:
Use the HubSpot BCC address to log emails (You can create a new rule to always include the BCC address when an email is created)
Connect their Gmail inbox directly to HubSpot (works for sending/logging from within HubSpot) or, if possible, use Gmail with the HubSpot Chrome extension, which offers full tracking and logging.
Google Workspace Sync for Outlook helps with mail/calendar sync but won’t enable HubSpot integration.
So yes, Office 365 hosting would solve it, but the above workarounds keep things functional without switching.
Thank you Carolina. Just to clarify, with regards to this approach:
Connect their Gmail inbox directly to HubSpot (works for sending/logging from within HubSpot)
So it seems like I’ll at minimum by doing this we’ll be able to log emails that are tied to an existing contact. And if I want to log an email to a new contact, I can BCC, correct?
What we won’t be able to do is “track” opens nor get the 1-click access to our records from within our email app. Is that right?
I’ve enabled “track all emails” and not just replies to a thread, that hopefully should capture new inbound emails from existing contacts. What we sacrifice is the ability to manually toggle on/off tracking/logging, tracking capabilities, and the access to our CRM data from within the app. But as far as logging emails, we’re covered?
