Looking for Hubspot Campaigns Best Practices

Hi there!

I’m currently working on the improuvement of our Hubspot campaigns. Do you have best practices/Tips to use the campaigns in the best possible way?

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @HPvr,

Happy to help here! Here are a few things I’d consider:

  • Get a good understanding of all marketing campaign features, in other words, read this article thoroughly: Create campaigns
  • Come up with a naming convention for your campaigns early on in your process, see for example here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Tips-Tricks-Best-Practices/Best-Naming-Convention-Practices/m-p/246768
  • Keep in mind that some reports only allow breakdowns by campaign, such as Menu > Marketing > Email > Analyze. If you want these reports for certain emails, create your campaigns and assign your emails accordingly.
  • HubSpot has recently introduced campaign properties: Manage your campaign properties – I’d recommend setting up these properties to better sort, filter, manage your campaigns (e.g. by team, market, language)
  • Familiarize yourself with the campaign calendar. The campaigns tool can really replace other project management tools if you’re doing it right. Plan your campaigns with the marketing calendar
  • Try to avoid re-associating assets between campaigns. While HubSpot is now capable of carrying over historic asset performance from a previous to a new campaign, I remember some hick-ups a while ago, losing asset performance when associating it to a new campaign.

Best regards!

BTW, Karsten rocks. Always helpful, providing great advice. Thank you for all the answers and tips you’ve shared across the forum.
