Hey there community friends! Talking with a client today who asked, “Do you have a list of all the behavior (engagement) properties options in HubSpot’s new lead scoring app? There’s so many, we’d like to see them in a spot rather than having to choose them all in a small window.”
So… has anyone created that?
Or if not, do you have a “best practices” resource you’d share with foks using the new lead scoring app?
Hi @danmoyle ,
As you know, HubSpot’s new lead scoring tool offers a wide range of behavioral (engagement) and demographic (fit) criteria to help build smarter, more actionable scoring models. While there isn’t a single published list of all behavior properties (since the tool is dynamic and context-driven), here’s a helpful breakdown of the most commonly used categories, plus a few best practices we follow:
These are frequently used activities you’ll find in the behavioral and demographic section:
Website Activity
Page views (any or specific pages)
Visits to high-intent pages (e.g., pricing, demo, contact)
Email Engagement
Opens, clicks, or replies to marketing/sales emails
Sequence interactions
Unsubscribes or bounces (negative scoring)
Form Submissions
Number of forms submitted
Specific form field values (e.g., job title, interest area)
CTA Interactions
Clicked a CTA button or banner
Viewed key lead gen assets (ebooks, webinars)
List Membership
Inclusion in smart/static lists (e.g., MQL, Demo Requested)
Meeting or Chat Engagement
Booked a meeting
Engaged with live chat or chatbot
Custom Events (if applicable)
Tracked actions like webinar attendance, feature usage, or app logins (via integrations or custom properties)
Best Practices for Lead Scoring -
Separate Fit & Engagement Scores
Create two distinct scores, one for demographic/firmographic data (fit), and one for behavior (engagement). This gives you better clarity when qualifying leads.
Use Custom Properties Where Needed
For actions not tracked by default (like in-person event attendance or key product milestones), use custom properties and include them in your scoring model.
Use Ranges for Prioritization
Apply score thresholds to group leads by priority (e.g., Hot = 80+, Warm = 50–79, Cold = <50). This makes segmentation and follow-up much easier.
Review & Adjust Regularly
Monitor what behaviors actually correlate with conversions, and update your score criteria accordingly
