Logging Messages Directly into HubSpot Deals

Logging Group Messages Directly into HubSpot Deals

Working with a client in the UAE where ~90% of communication runs through Tele-gram. No native integration exists, and the marketplace options are mostly widget-based and messy..

Using the HubSpot Communications API and MTProto Mobile Protocol, I’m now logging sent and received messages directly into client deals as proper communication records, not notes, not workarounds.

The result: sales and CS never have to touch HubSpot to keep it updated. No helpdesk UI to learn. Just their normal back-and-forth messaging, synced automatically into the deal timeline.

The real unlock was group messaging. That’s where most of these conversations actually happen, and it’s where every off-the-shelf solution falls flat.

Still a work in progress but fully functional. Happy to share the journey here for those interested.

This is actually really interesting.

The group messaging part is what stands out the most, because that’s exactly where most real conversations happen, especially in regions where Tele-gram is basically the default.

Curious how you’re handling message context and mapping it cleanly into deals, especially when multiple people are involved in the same group thread. Does it ever get messy in terms of attribution or timeline clarity?

Also wondering how stable it’s been so far, given how unofficial integrations can sometimes break.

Would be great to hear more about how you’re structuring this behind the scenes.

Hey Maks, really cool to see someone actually tackle this instead of just waiting for a native Telegram integration that may never come. Using the Communications API with MTProto is a solid approach, especially for UAE where Telegram is basically the default for everything.

The group messaging part is what stood out to me. Most marketplace solutions just handle direct conversations and completely skip the fact that real deal discussions happen in groups with multiple stakeholders.

Curious how you’re handling identity resolution there, when you have 4 or 5 people in a Telegram group, are you mapping each participant to their HubSpot contact record automatically or does everything land under one sender?

One thing I’ve noticed working across a lot of HubSpot environments at Stacksync is that deal timelines get noisy fast once you start logging a high volume channel like this. Group chats especially, 20 or 30 messages can fly in within an hour. Have you thought about any filtering on the way in, maybe only logging messages that reference pricing or action items? Otherwise deals with heavy Telegram traffic could pile up hundreds of timeline entries and reps start scrolling past everything.

Really solid work.

The fact that sales and CS dont have to learn a new UI is usually where these custom integrations die.

Hope it keeps going well.
