Log "Send quote email" sends as activities on associated Deal, Contact, and Company records

Title: Log “Send quote email” sends as activities on associated Deal, Contact, and Company records

Category: Sales — Quotes

Description:

When a user sends a quote using the built-in “Send quote email” option in the quote builder, the email is delivered to the buyer but is not logged as an email activity on the associated Deal, Contact, or Company record. It also does not appear in the user’s connected email sent folder (Outlook/Gmail).

This means sales reps have no visible record of what was sent, when, or to whom, even though the email was successfully delivered. The only way to see that the quote was sent is on the quote’s own activity panel, which is separate from the deal and company timelines where reps expect to see communication history.

The current workaround is to use “Create custom email in your CRM” instead of “Send quote email,” which does log to the CRM record. However, this requires the rep to know about and choose this alternate option every time, adding an extra step to a workflow that should be automatic.

What is needed: Quote emails sent via the native “Send quote email” dialog should automatically create a logged email activity on the associated Deal, Contact, and Company records, just like standard CRM 1:1 emails do.

Why this matters: Sales reps rely on deal and company timelines to track all communication with buyers. When quote emails are invisible on those records, reps lose context, cannot verify what was sent, and are forced to use workarounds or outside tools to maintain a complete activity history. Logging quote sends to CRM records would eliminate unnecessary manual steps and keep all quote-related communication in one place.
