Hey @WWeir,
Thanks for posting in the Community!
I’m sorry to hear about your being locked out of LinkedIn. For reference, the only connection to HubSpot that I can brainstorm you may have set up is in relationship to a LinkedIn Sales Navigator account, if you have one. With that said, though, you would have had to set up all of the steps outlined in this knowledge base article to achieve that connection. Even then, though, we wouldn’t expect for HubSpot to be the cause of locking you out of your account, as this integration has been connected by countless users over the years, and I’m not seeing any documentation of this behavior.
Can you perhaps provide a bit more detail around what you mean when you say, “I saw HubSpot pop up in LinkedIn?”

ok - i thought id posted what i found but alas no!!
so i think it maybe the chrome extension - linkedhub.io - and i dont remember putting that in so will try to remove as that is all i can point to at this time
ok it has shown up again - Hub Lead - and it is a chrome extension and i have now deleted from extensions so hopefully that will solve being locked out at linked in
Hey @WWeir,
Thank you for confirming what you found! For context, HubLead is a third-party integration for your Chrome browser. For any further troubleshooting, should the issue persist, we’d need to refer directly to HubLead’s Support. In any case, I’m happy we found the culprit!

Hi @WWeir,
Yes, you’re right. Hub Lead is most likely a third-party Chrome extension rather than anything native to LinkedIn or HubSpot. Extensions like Hub Lead can interact with LinkedIn pages in the browser, and that activity might be flagged by LinkedIn’s security systems as automated behavior, which potentially leads to temporary lockouts. It’s not that LinkedIn is detecting a literal AI tool, but rather the interaction pattern coming from the browser. As you’ve already removed it from Chrome, that’s the right first step. You can also quickly check other Chrome profiles or any other browsers on the same device to make sure nothing similar is still active. Once the extension is fully removed and the restriction period passes, the account should return to normal.
