I am trying to create a list of companies based on a certain person creating them. For example our admin added some clients to the system on behalf of my director and I want to find which clients they were, Ive tried creating a list based on ‘Created by User ID’ and ive put her unique number in but it doesnt find any results, is there another way to do it? Just for reference she set the owner of the company as the director so I cannot filter by that
Hi @SKeohan,
Just to confirm, how did you look up the user ID? You can either grab this by opening a user record in the settings for ‘Users & Teams’.
Alternatively, you can open any record you know was created by that user and look up the value in the ‘Created by user ID’.
Best regards
Hi @SKeohan
I think this is a case of HubSpot being very inconsistent in naming their own IDs, and also not simply providing drop down, instead of us having to hunt around for these in the system.
Essentially there are two IDs:
- userID - best way to find it is going to a user in “users & teams” and checking the URL path after /user/xxxxxx, for example my userID in Sandbox is https://app.hubspot.com/settings/HUBID/users/user/**56173711**
- onwerID - this is ID which is used by the contact, company, deal owner property, and it is different from the userID , in this case my ownerID is 485346092
When I search for createdby ID with ownerID I also get 0 results.
However when I search by userID I can see the objects I created.
Again, why we can’t just have a simple dropdown instead of rummaging around for ID numbers and copzing them, I do not know ![]()
Hope that helps.
Frank
