List (segment) on a company level - companies were contacted more than 90 days ago

Hello colleagues,

We want to have a list (on a company level) of companies that were contacted more than 90 days ago. Please look at the filters I used to create such a list.

The filters worked perfectly on a contact-level list, but something is not working for a company-level list. Can you help me here, please?

Thanks

Hi @ISmolin,

Your list is filtering for contacts who are associated to at least one contact who has a last activity more than 90 days ago. That doesn’t mean that all associated contacts do.

It sounds that you want to find instead all companies who have not had a touchpoint in the last 90 days – which would be something very different.

If that’s the case, do the following:

  • Create a first segment of companies that were last contacted less than 90 days ago. (No need to filter fo associated contacts as those contact dates roll up into the company.)
  • Create a second segment that contains all companies who are not a member of the first segment.

Best regards

Sounds good and logical, but it doesn’t work in reality. Please see below:

and the list we are looking for, but the last activity date is less than 90 days ago. Why?

@ISmolin your exclusions need to be applied in the second segment, not the first segment. If you apply them in the first segment, you shrink the group of contacts who were last contacted in the last 90 days – only for these contacts to enter the second segment again.

Thanks, @karstenkoehler. I removed the exclusions, but the filters still do not work. Here is an example:

Here is the issue:

This company is on the list, but it has not been touched for more than 90 days. Why?

@ISmolin marketing emails are not considered in the ‘Last activity date’ property. For the sales email below, can you confirm that it’s associated not only with the contact but also the company? This would happen by default but can differ when settings are changed or manually edited.

In that case, for your segments, do the following:

  1. Segment: Companies with Last activity date is less than 90 days ago OR Company is associated with contact where Last activity date is less than 90 days ago OR Companies associated with contact where Last marketing email send date is less than 90 days ago
  2. Segment: Companies who are not a member of the first segment AND your exclusions

Best regards

Hi @karstenkoehler

“For the sales email below, can you confirm that it’s associated not only with the contact but also with the company? This would happen by default but can differ when settings are changed or manually edited.” I think the email from the 15th of August is associated with a contact only, not with a company. Where can I change it to have an email that the contact got automatically associated with a company, too?

Should it be like this below?

@ISmolin the company dropdown is the relevant one, yes.

If a user decides to not log an email to a contact and a company (and simply unselects it), this will not override it however.

But, in my reply with the list filters, contact activities are also considered as a failsafe: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/CRM/List-segment-on-a-company-level-companies-were-contacted-more/m-p/1201115/highlight/true#M159908
