List Creation/Refinement for Marketing Events: Organizer & Type

Hi HubSpot Community,

I’m trying to build more efficient contact lists based on Marketing Event registration and attendance, specifically for our higher education marketing use case.

We run hundreds of Class Visit events each year, and I’d like to create a list of contacts who attended events of a particular event type (e.g., “Class Visit”) and that were hosted by a specific organizer (e.g., our Full-time MBA program team) within a recruitment cycle.

Currently, when building a list with the “Has completed: Attended marketing event” filter, I only see two filterable fields under “Refine by”:

  • Event name
  • Occurred at

While helpful, these are not scalable for our needs. Manually entering each of the 200+ Class Visit event names would be time-intensive and prone to error.

Please consider adding the ability to filter by:

  • eventType
  • eventOrganizer

These fields are already part of the Marketing Event object schema, so surfacing them in list filtering would allow for much more scalable and accurate segmentation.

Let me know if anyone has a workaround in the meantime.

Hey @scottrief! I agree that more filter options would be useful for Marketing Events in the Lists tool.

To some of our members with more experience in reporting, @Josh, @webdew, @MrJustinGivens -- do y’all know of any possible workarounds to filter Marketing events by event type or organizer?

If all else fails, I encourage you to consider creating a post on our Ideas Forum here. If you find a similar idea, give it an upvote and share your unique use case in the comments. I’d be happy to upvote as well if you share the link here!

Best,

Thanks for the reply, @kennedyp! I just submitted it to the Ideas forum. Hopefully it’ll be something they take up.
