Lintphone : Validate & Format Phone Numbers in HubSpot Workflows

Hello HubSpot Community! :waving_hand:

I’m excited to introduce Lintphone – a lightweight and powerful tool to validate, clean, and format phone numbers directly inside your HubSpot workflows.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Key Features

  • :white_check_mark: Automatic validation – Instantly checks if a number is real and correctly structured
  • :white_check_mark: Supports 250+ countries and territories
  • :white_check_mark: Multiple formats available:
    • E.164 (e.g., +14155552671)
    • International (e.g., +1 415-555-2671)
    • National (e.g., (415) 555-2671)
    • RFC3966 (e.g., tel:+1-415-555-2671)
  • :white_check_mark: “Call from country” logic – Interprets local-format numbers using your default country
  • :white_check_mark: Smart parsing – Automatically detects and extracts valid phone numbers, even from long multiline text fields. Ideal for processing form comments, notes, or any unstructured data.
  • :white_check_mark: Works as a custom workflow action – No external tools required
  • :white_check_mark: Error tagging – Flag invalid or unknown numbers with custom properties

:gear: How It Works

  1. Add Lintphone as a custom action in your HubSpot workflow
  2. Choose the phone field to clean
  3. Optionally define a “call from” country
  4. Lintphone formats and validates the number
  5. Cleaned number is written back to the contact (same or different field)

:test_tube: Use Cases

  • Clean phone numbers submitted through forms
  • Prepare numbers for WhatsApp, Twilio, or Aircall
  • Segment contacts based on phone validity or location
  • Fix legacy CRM data with messy formats
  • Extract a phone number hidden in a long form message or note field

This is great @DBRAHIM! Thank you for sharing. Do you have any images of what this looks like in action?

Best,

Kennedy

Thanks for your feedback!

Here’s a screenshot showing the configuration of the custom workflow action, along with the output values returned by the action when it’s executed. This should give you a clearer idea of how it works in practice.

I’ve also included a screenshot of the values returned by the action, as they appear within the workflow. This should help illustrate what data you can work with directly in your automation :

For more detailed information, you can refer to the official documentation: https://lintphone.com/documentation.

Let me know if you’d like to see a full example of it running in a workflow, or if you need anything else!
